Hello other gender!

It’s always nice to talk about you and your products! The way you have been fiercely competing with us on every front, I would say that the beauty industry is not lagging behind (I mean there is an influx of men care products in the market every now and then). From separate shampoos to face wash to body wash to moisturisers, you are building a parallel market. but there is one thing which’ll remain forever yours and where we can’t even step our foot into! And that is a manly beard and its products (and believe me we don’t want either).

But because of my investigating nature, I keep an eye on men products too. It not only gives me a good insight of this industry but also helps me know needs of the person I am sharing my life with. So while I was screening some of the beard care products in my local hypermarket’s shelves, I saw this small bottle of beard oil claiming to tame grizzly beards, it was Brisk Citrus Beard Oil.

I knew what they meant with grizzly because I’m dealing with one at home. So being a good wifey, I gifted it to my husband and then sat quietly for few days to notice his reactions. (Behind that out of blue love was my actual motive to know his experience, so that I could share it with you). And finally he spilled the beans and shared his experience and how it was, let me elaborate.

About the brand

A US based company, Brisk has a beard grooming range. They claim to tame and soften  beard hair – from scruff to even the grizzliest of beards. They have a variety of products from balm to shampoo to oils.

Product description

The oil comes a glass translucent brown bottle with a dispensing pipette. The consistency is a little runny but is easy to massage.

Product claim

This fast-absorbing beard oil is designed to soften and tame dry, rough beard hair, while helping the skin that gets dry and itchy underneath the beard stay hydrated. The ultra-light formula features a combination of nourishing Sweet Almond, Avocado, Argan and Jojoba natural oils, Vitamin E, as well as the fresh, citrus scent of Lemon Peel and Grapefruit Peel essential oils. Beard hair and skin are left looking and feeling healthier.

Almond oil (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil), Avocado oil (Persea Gratissima Oil), Argan oil (Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil), Jojoba oil (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil), Tea tree oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil), Cedar wood oil (Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil),  Citrus Limon Peel Oil, Tocopherol, Citral, Citrus Grandis Peel Oil, Geraniol.Tocopherol, Limonene, Linalool.

Directions to use

Use the glass dropper to drop the desired amount of oil into Palm. Rub Hands together and evenly apply to facial hair and skin underneath. Beard oil is ideally applied on a damp / towel-dried beard, but it can also be used on a dry beard. It can be used everyday or on alternate days.

How Much to Use

Scruff: 1 drop

Short beard: 2-3 drops

Mid-length beard: 3-6 drops

Long beard: 6-10 drops

£6.99 for 50 ML | £13.98 per 100ML

It is created with natural ingredients and essential oils.

It is greasy but absorbs quickly in the beard.

It keeps the beard soft and under control and adds shine to it.

It does control itchiness and beardruff to an extent.

The fragrance is light and refreshing but not overwhelming.

It smells nice, but dissipates in no time.

It does smell fruity and citrusy with a bergamot opening, so may not be a first preference for men with musky likelihood.

A few drops are not enough and a full pipette is needed to soften the beard satisfactorily which means it is going out to be expensive in the long-term.

Yay or Nay

Beards come in all shapes and sizes, from profuse to patchy, scruffy to sculpted. This beard oil is neither as good as more expensive stuff but not awful either. It  is a heavy oil which some may find greasy. It is a good oil at a competitive price but if none of the pros work for you, Just remember that there is better stuff out there when you’re ready to move on!
So here I would to conclude my today’s review. I’ll see you guys soon with some another product soon!
