Review: Givenchy clean it silky

After a long, busy and tiring day, All I want is to jump into the bed without anyone disturbing me. But with a face full of makeup including that stubborn eyeliner and mascara, its seems almost impossible. I mean, who would like to stand in front of the mirror looking for a cotton pad and then a milky cleanser. Isn’t there any magical product, which makes my makeup vanish away. Well not the wand actually, but I have something very similar. They call it Givenchy Clean it silky.

As I have professed my love for it, you guys know it has been a sure shot hit with my greasy and oily pot pan face. I use it when my face is decked up with foundation and concealer and eye shadow and eye liner and mascara and bronzer and lipstick, phew! And all it takes is less than 2 mins to dissolve everything for my cotton tissue to wipe it off.  But whether I like it or not, you guys definitely need to know more about it, so here I begin!

About the brand

Founded in 1952 by designer Hubert de Givenchy, Givenchy is a French luxury fashion, perfume and cosmetics house. It is owned by luxury conglomerate LVMH. The best dressed women in the world have been Givenchy’s wearers – Audrey Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, Babe Paley, Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor. The most famous ambassador of the brand was Audrey Hepburn in real and reel life.

Product Claim

Delight in the sensual pleasure of an oil that cleanses your skin to perfection. GIVENCHY Clean It Silky’s secret is simple: a blend of powerful oils that instantly melts away all traces of makeup – even highly pigmented and waterproof formulae – and dissolves impurities, leaving skin deeply cleansed, moisturised, nourished and more radiant-looking.

Product description

This cleansing oil comes in a transparent sturdy plastic bottle with a dispensing nozzle on top. There is no extra cover to prevent the spillage but it does have a rotating nozzle lock to prevent it.

As it is transparent, so it becomes a little difficult to read each and every instruction on the bottle. The quantity of the product is sufficient for longer use as you’ll only need just one pump of this oil for your full face.

Directions to use

Take a pump of this oil on your palm and massage into your face and eyes using a gentle upwards circular motion to break down all impurities. Next, wet your palms to create an emulsion and massage again, moving upwards with the same circular motions. (Adding a few drops of water turns the oil into a milky lotion that leaves no residue on skin and no uncomfortable film around your eyes.)

  7. It doesn’t leave any oily residue on the skin.

Cons

Yay or Nay

Yaaaay!!! This oil is an absolute must have in your vanity. Even I had my own apprehensions applying an oil over my oily face, but believe me, it was one of my best decisions ever. I know it is pricey, but given for the fact that it not only cleans your face but also emulsifies to give you a perfect soft and supple skin, I am ready to pay the price!
