It was a usual routine at my office to come to the front desk every morning to check the meeting schedule for the day. What was unusual that the girl at the front desk would usually follow me to my cabin. Once I asked her if she needed something, and I got to know that It wasn’t me but my fragrance that attracted her. Yeah I know it sounds a bit childish, but I realised the power of fragrance that day. Since then, It became a staple in my vanity.
It was Elizabeth Arden’s Splendor. Without a second thought, I had bought it on a sale as it was way too affordable and had good quantity too. But believe me, this is elegance in a bottle.
Launched by the design house of Elizabeth Arden in 1998, Splendor is classified as a refined, oriental, floral fragrance. The nose behind it is James Krivda. This feminine scent possesses a blend of water lily, magnolia, and white musk.
About the brand
Starting in 1910, at an age when it was rare for any girl to wear make-up, much less run their own businesses, Elizabeth Arden opened her first spa on Fifth Avenue and began to build one of the world’s first global beauty brands. She was an innovator in the field of women’s cosmetics, introducing eye makeup to American women and pioneering the “makeover.” She was also world-famous for her holistic approach to beauty. As far back as the 1920’s she was encouraging women to hydrate, avoid the sun, and practice yoga daily. The company’s first fragrance was Blue Grass, introduced in 1934, and since then they have been developing a long list of scents under its own name brand, as well as scents under the brand names of designers and celebrities
Cover yourself from head to toe with the pleasingly complex aroma of Splendor perfume for women from Elizabeth Arden. This fragrance is perfect for those nights where you wish to get out among the crowd and leave a lasting impression everywhere you go. Freesia, peony and hyacinth top notes are supported by wisteria and pineapple to create an elegant scent that demands attention without overwhelming the room. Despite its complexity, this sparkling fragrance fits well in any casual setting and lasts for hours after application.
Well well well, usually the beautiful bottles don’t carry awesome fragrances. But this is entirely opposite in the case of splendor. It comes in a long glass transparent bottle with a round headed glass cap. The pump is good and you just need 2-3 sprays for an entire day. It used to be clear but because of reformulation, now the perfume itself is yellow in colour.

- It is a scintillating and sophisticated perfume which has a light sillage (enough to get you noticed in a meeting room).
- It goes on a bit sharp, but quickly settles into a soft and light floral scent. It is sweet but not cloyingly.
- It definitely lasts all day and doesn’t give that awful smell after reacting with sweat.
- It smells little vintage and retro but at the same time youthful and energising. It can be worn by both a teenager and a grandmother.
- It is perfect for evening wear.
- Just two pumps is what you need in a day.
- It comes in good quantity and an affordable price tag. It is affordable but not a cheap juice. It is an old perfume thats why you may see some offers on it.
It has pineapple leaf note in it which gives a bitterness to the perfume. This bitterness is surprising and may last the whole while you are wearing it.
Yay or Nay
Splendor isn’t one of those frangrances that’ll ignite fire in your lover’s eyes asking for passionate nights. This is more of a coffee mug and good book sort of perfume. This is definitely a fragrance worth trying if you like clean, fresh florals that are just simply very, very pretty. I heart it ❤️.
